Rushall NS is a rural school situated in the Pike-of Rushall about 5km from the village of Castletown in Co. Laois.
The school has an enrolment of 36 pupils, 20 girls and 16 boys. The teachers are Mr. Andrew Monaghan (Principal), Ms. Eamhair Conroy (Deputy) and Ms. Triona O'Donnell (Support Teacher). Also on staff are Ms. Anne Phelan (SNA) and Ms. Therese Kirwan (SNA), Ms. Andra Mardari (Cleaner) and Ms. Claire Delaney (secretary) .
At Rushall NS we aim to provide a happy, positive and secure learning environment where each child can develop socially, academically and spiritually at their own pace. Our ethos reflects and respects the values and traditions of the community in which it is situated.
School starts at 9:20 a.m. and ends at 3:00 p.m. School is open to receive pupils from 9.10 am. The school consisting of just two classrooms was built in 1881. An extension consisting of one more classroom, a spacious staffroom and an office was added in 2013. There is a basketball court and a playing area to the front of the school. A playing pitch, suitable for hurling, football, rounders etc. and the school garden are situated beside the main building.
